About Me,
Ale Fiorini
My name is Alessandra, but you can call me Ale (Ali).
I am from Brazil, born and raised in a Italian family. If you live in or visit Steamboat, you probably saw me at the Old Town Hot Springs gym or the Hayden airport.
At the airport, I work for United and Alaska Airlines since 2017.
At the gym, I am a gym rat since moving here, straight from Brazil, almost 10 years ago.
And you must be asking, "Ale, how did you end up here, in the snow, coming from a Tropical country?"
Well, I was brought to Steamboat by my husband, Allan.
When we started dating - online, through Instagram (and don't believe his version, he was the one who hit on me) - Allan used to live in Hawaii, and when he proposed, I go "oh, ok, great, I am going to live in Hawaii", but instead, he brought me to this Winter Wonderland.
I have completely adapted to the snow now - my blood must be really thick, because I work on the ramp at the airport - but don't ask me if I ski.
No, I don't. Too cold for me LOL.
Instead, I go to the gym.
This passion to physical exercise began back in 2008, when I had Breast Cancer at a young age, only six months after my mother had been diagnosed of the same disease.
I had a double mastectomy, chemotherapy, lost my hair and my self esteem.
And then, I decided to change.
I started running.
I started eating healthy.
I started lifting weights.
Exercising kept my levels of estrogen low, required for not having a recidive, but mainly brought my levels of self-love back.
I was healed, I was healthy, I was back to life.
Recently, I entered menopause.
And exercising, once more, helped me to face all the terrible symptoms.
As I cannot have hormone replacement because of the Breast Cancer, I would say that keeping exercising also saved Allan's life LOL.
I've been working out and studying about it for years, and then, I've decided to make this passion a way of living.
I became certified as Personal Trainer and Nutrition Coach by NASM - National Academy of Sports Nutrition, the most credited certification in sports in America.
So, now, I can justify to Allan all the time I spent at the gym and can show to you everything that I tested on myself and worked out, on both exercising and eating healthy.
Thinking about this, I can finally dedicate my time to something that I really love and have the knowledge about: coaching others as Personal Trainer and Nutrition Coach - or as Allan say - sticking my nose into people's lives.
